The Murder of Roger Ackroyd – Agatha Christie
4 stars
Roger Ackroyd is Agatha Christie’s only corpse to find its way to the 1001 books list. As with all Christie mysteries there are multiple suspects and a very unusual twist at the end. No amount of complexity can fool Hercule Poirot and the little grey cells. I’d read this many years ago and I remembered who done it, but I still couldn’t figure out how it was done until the end.

Agatha is so darn clever. I loved how this all came together, and I can't say much because it would spoil it. This is a very fun and clever mystery, and I'll leave it at that!

This is the first Christie I read after reading an extract from the novel in my literature class at school. Since that day Christie and Poirot have become my favorite.
