The twists in this story were clever and interesting...the horror was a bit like Stephen King, but much less wordy. The idea of an evil entity that needs to do actual research to find the correct victims was a great idea.
The story was a blend of regular teen angst and supernatural horror, in ways that I had not anticipated. The blend worked very well.

Super-good! I have to say, better than re-reading those ol' R.L. Stine novels from middle school. Alender writes great characters--engaging and real, and while some may find the doors that slam on their own and appliances that turn on by themselves a tad cliche, I say who cares? They made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end, and that is a sure-fire indicator of a good ghost story. Love the cover, too. ...more

Started a bit slow, but once the story took off it was done before I knew it. Enjoyed the story, though I can't say that the way the relationships between the characters developed seemed very realistic. ...more
