The bulk of this book deserved five stars, but the ending deserved negative stars, at best. Many years ago, National Lampoon did a satire about bad writing in which they stated that any story could be ended by the words "and they all got run over by a truck..."

Compelling reading. When, if ever, it is justified to take the parts of a young child's body to improve and possibly save the life of an ill sibling? And what if that young child saying, "No, no more," means the ill sibling will die? Is there an age at which we can choose what's done with and to our bodies?
The ending was my only complaint - and only because I found it too convenient. But I still recommend this as thought-provoking reading. ...more
