I really wanted to rate this higher, Jason is one of my favorite characters and I was looking for a Jason-focused story similar to "Micah". I liked Anita's interaction with JJ, Jason, Nathaniel and even Domino, but not Jade. And Anita didn't spend as much time agonizing in her head over what she felt was right versus what she wanted which was good. oh my god! I was sure Laurell K. Couldn't write a bad book but this thing.... When I first opened it up and found it was a novella and not a full sized novel I was disappointed , sheesh! Sex sex semi plot sex sex sex.
really that's is pretty much what it was.
i don't mind a bit of smut/sex/dirty stuff. but seriously over done in this case.
never have i felt so frustrated by Anita Blake series.. i have read and re read them all. but seriously after this one i felt ready to drop the series entirely!!!!!
now we do get a little character development, but you have to wade through sex to get there! ...more
