The comparisons to Crime and Punishment are apt, but in a nice twist the killer gets away with his crime. This is one of the more memorable novels I've read in quite some time. Savagely funny and searingly painful at turns, the title character's voice never rings false. Quite an accomplishment. I look forward to more by this author.

I am not really sure what the hype was about with this book. I found it just ok. I did like the social commentary on the society in modern-day India, but I found the protagonist lacking. He was not that interesting even with his unusual point of view. Not that this book is terrible, but I would recommend reading something else.
