My first thought after finishing The Halloween Tree is that it should be a Halloween tradition in the same way A Christmas Carol by Dickens is a Christmas tradition. They are both stories of how characters have forgotten the meaning of the season and the mysterious supernatural spirits that help them find it again. I enjoyed this story and the old Halloween feeling. Back during a time when kids could run free unsupervised all hours of the night. This is a story of tricks, treats, and friendships. I like that the boys’ friendships are so important, and they will support each other even when there is a cost. I recommend this to Ray Bradbury lovers.

That was some weird book but better than a few I read.

We learn how much friendship means to children and how they will go though many highs and lows to save those they care for.
The eight boys are on a mission to save their friend, Pipkin from death and other mystery creatures, and on a night as dark as Halloween, they will travel to many places not knowing what to expect, but will it be enough to save Pipkin ?

I didn't love it, but it was alright.

This is great for the Halloween season. I’m sure I would have eaten this up as a child. Fun, spooky and a little scary it delivers all the atmosphere of a Halloween read. This was a fun romp through time.
