This is at the top of my favorite book/series. It was different and exciting. Takes a little to get used to all the diffrent ideas but it is a wonderful fantasy world. A MUST READ!

I bought this book exactly 2 years ago, and I always hesitate to pick it up. If it wasn't for the movie moving out, and me planning to watch it with my friend this week I think the book would have stayed on my shelf for at least another year before I would have picked it up and read it. I can now officially say that I regret not picking up this book earlier, I must know what happens next and I MUST buy the sequel as soon as I go to a bookshop.

The first chapter or two didn't really grab my attent I bought this book exactly 2 years ago, and I always hesitate to pick it up. I can now officially say that I regret not picking up this book earlier, I must know what happens next and I MUST buy the sequel as soon as I go to a bookshop.

The first chapter or two didn't really grab my attention that much, I was actually bored with the book and just trying to red through it while wishing for it to either end or get better. Then I don't know why happened and I couldn't put the book down, I would tell myself just one more chapter but I end up reading 3 or 4 more instead. I fell in love with the book.The dose of romance, action, suspense and drama in this book is just perfect. Not too much nor too little of anything.

The plot is so interesting and unique to me, I don't recall ever reading a book with such a concept. I usually dislike and try to steer off from books that are inspired out of other books and are just a copy of them, Hex Hall for example is a mixture of Harry Potter and Twilight and something that's what I wrote in my review but no I know what that something is, City of Bones. To me I like reading books because of the amount of creativity and new ideas they contain, so reading a book that is a rip off of another book is just a waste of time.

The whole idea of the book is brilliant, it's fresh. Shadowhunters is a new word to me, I have never heard about them before so Cassandra Clare brought a whole new thing to me. The whole word is amazing. I love the detail, and the depth of description. Great great great characters, fell in love with them and I can't get enough of Jace (Jonathan) in particular. Jace is so god damn sexy, hot and charming. He is definitely between the top 5 male characters I adore,cherish and love.

One of the things that made me love this book even more is the amount of surprises and twists and turns. I enjoyed how the small details that seem insignificant at the moment all add up to form one great picture or event at the end. I received a whole lot of shocks with this book especially the Jace thing at the end ( I'm trying my best not to spoil ), but I had already predicted who Clary was.

I actually read this book at the same time with my friend who I am going to watch the movie with, and she told me she couldn't stop reading as well. We plan to watch the movie this week and I really really hope they didn't ruin it. I hope it lives up to my expectations.

I'm actually considering writing a fanfiction with Jace as the main character, who knows maybe I will someday. I need to read another 2 books from the series to do that though just so I'm sure about his character and his thinking way.

I would recommend this book to any teenager or even adult that is interested in a new concept, or just wants a great young adult fiction to read. I certainly wish the book was longer, and I was really sad and disappointed when it ended. I'm going to try my best to get the second book this month.

I honestly beleive this series of books is the best I have EVER read!!
Clare is an exceptional writer, who brings her characters to life. You feel like you can really connect like them and you find yourself completely spelbound by the world she creates.

I love her charatcers, especially Jace! She is amazing at writing his lines, which are bound to be witty, snarky, sarcastic and just plain hilarious!
