This is one of those novels that causes me to reflect on our history and wonder “what were they thinking? How could they do that?” In hindsight, it seems so extreme (and WRONG) to round up and imprison an entire population of Japanese Americans after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It makes me wonder what we’re doing now that future generations will look back at with the same frustration and disbelief.
