I read this book because World Magazine recommended it as one of the best in new fiction for 2016. It is a retelling into contemporary times of the Shakespeare play, "The Taming of the Shrew". It's an interesting premise. Why would a modern woman marry a man she doesn't really know in order to please her father? Anne Tyler comes up with a very believable scenario. Sweet and sour meatballs. That's what this book tasted like. A punch of flavor packed into a fun rolly-polly shape. Just what I was craving.
