What Members Thought
"World War Z" is not my normal kind of book. While I do like dystopian fiction, I like it to be realistic and believable. Zombies are a little questionable to me but after hearing such good things about this book from some trusted book recommend-ers, I decided to give this book a chance. I love being proven wrong about my book tastes (it stretches my reading life in so many different ways and gets me out of my comfort zone) and this book definitely did that for me!

This is a very smart, well-researched book. I was fascinated by the ins and outs of an apocalypse, things that we never think to take into consideration. What weapons will still be useful, and what won't. The people we will need to sacrifice for the species to survive. Transportation issues and running out of fuel.

Loved how Brooks told the world's story through many voices.

This book really surprised me. The level of detail and character development in each chapter was amazing. The stories felt real and the lessons about human nature and our mistakes echoed lessons passed down from history. Definitely recommend reading.
