9/11/2010: Wow, this book took my breath away. I read it quickly, because I couldn't put it down--it's an easy read, being from the point of view of a 5 year old boy. But at the same time, it's challenging; as you get deeper into the story, you are forced again and again to question your own assumptions and preconceived ideas about life, freedom, sanity...whew. This book could have been very depressing but as it was told from the perspective of a 5 year old it made the subject easier to handle - it also adds an extra dimension to what could otherwise be a flat book...
