I am not fond of novels with prologues, so really annoyed with the one in Damage Control by J.A.Jance. As new characters were introduced, I would flip back to the prologue to check names, finding that the woman was not showing up in the story.

There are a lot of incidents occurring in this book in the Joanna Brady series. An elderly couple drive off a mountain, their two daughters, estranged from each other for 40 years fight in a bar, the body of a mentally challenged girl is found, and Joanna's mother and her second husband, Joanna's medical examiner are having problems. Will it all work out? It is a good thing that she has competent people working with her, and that other police forces cooperate.
