RandomAnthony | 14536 comments This is sad, eh? They can't find people who need homes in California?

message 2: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It's a hard rain gonna fall, Sarah.

message 3: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Sarah? I'm not that pretty.

Randomanthony wrote: "Sarah? I'm not that pretty."

Maybe not physically, but mentally

message 5: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Ha! Sorry. Oh shit. It's true. You're not.

message 6: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Still not that pretty. But thank you, Jim.

This is the time of year that Jim gets all the good inland weather and we by the lake get stuck with the cold. I'm jealous, Jim.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll send as much good weather your way that I can. Right now there is quite a bit of thunder and lightning, I'll try to keep that here.

message 8: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Like I said -- hard rain.

message 9: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Oh, that's coming tonight? I hope I closed the car windows.

Lar-Pierre the weather man

message 11: by Lori (new)

Lori I'm confuzzled. Did Sarah delete some comments?

message 12: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments I agree. I read there was a program down south somewhere where they were actually putting these kinds of houses to a good purpose, renting them cheaply to homeless people hit by the hard times. It seemed it was a good program. Why can't the banks come up with something like that instead of all this waste?

::muttering with Bunny::

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments That's insane! Doesn't Habitat for Humanity take construction materials from houses being remodeled to reuse them? There's a store here with old cabinets and fixtures, and LUMBER from old houses for sale. I bought a door there that fit the rest of my house in style AND in size, it was great!
They should reuse that lumber and other materials, not grind them up for compost.
Aaaargh!

message 14: by Lori (new)

Lori Makes me wanna cry. Or kill someone.

message 15: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Or cry whilst killing someone.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

This seems to be an example of the mentality of the past that we need to change.

message 17: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Pushes Jackie between Lori and me

message 18: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments RA, unless you work for the banks, I think you're (relatively) safe.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Hey, no pushing!

message 20: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) I don't know which Sarah you thought he was but I think we are all prettier. Tee hee.

Back on topic: four or five years ago it was all build build build around here are house values were skyrocketing. Now people who need houses can't afford them, even at the lower prices. Values were so inflated that even the "lower" prices are still too high, especially compared to other parts of the country. There are LOTS of new homes sitting empty.

Félix (habitseven) Sarah wrote: "I don't know which Sarah you thought he was but I think we are all prettier. Tee hee."

Oh, no doubt.

But I still don't know what kind of animals you're afraid of. I guess I don't know you at all.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I know that Sarah N. has a phobia of chickens. And that Sarah Pi likes zebras.
Does that help, Larry?

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
This Sara N. is afraid of snakes, spiders, and clowns. Thank you.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments Larry wrote: "It's a hard rain gonna fall, Sarah."

that is a GREAT song by Edie Brickell

message 25: by Félix (last edited May 07, 2009 07:41AM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) Edie recorded it, but Dylan wrote it. I haven't heard anyone sing it other than Dylan -- but I am eager to hear it. Thanks, Kevin.

message 26: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Snakes, spiders and clowns. Got it.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Larry wrote: "Snakes, spiders and clowns. Got it."

Are you putting this into a spreadsheet Larry?

message 28: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Are you afraid that I'm doing that, Jim?

::makes entry in spreadsheet::

Yup. Thanks, you.

message 30: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Which Sarah?

didn't know that larry but now i assume almost every song is a cover by someone else. i have a playlist on my ipod called "covers" that only has known cover songs. i have like 7 versions of Mississippi Queen. Edie is in another playlist called "cool chix" with Norah Jones, Bonnie Raitt,Corinne Bailey Rae among other. as for dylan, i can't do dylan. great songs though. just the style...

message 32: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) No Cow? Now that really screws up my calculations!

::goes back to the spreadsheet, muttering under his breath::

Kevin -- I understand about Dylan. Quite often other people do his songs in a much more pleasing manner than he does.

message 33: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Crap. I'll never get this right.

He wears a helmet, doesn't he?

I think if you go back to his WI Dells vacation pictures he may have been wearing a Speedo, so your calculations may be correct.

message 38: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) On his head you mean?

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Larry wrote: "On his head you mean?"

Speedo on his head and helmet where?

message 40: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Hahahha! Was he even in those pictures? If there is a speedo I'll ... I'll ... eat this bacon.

message 41: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Hmmm .....

Turns out the final answer is as I suspected. Pi.

Sarah Pi wins.

message 42: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
What does she win?

We in Wisconsin wear speedos all the time. We wear them to Brewers games, cheese factories, and while riding Harley-Davisons.

Speedos and Crocs. Nothing else.

message 44: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Sally wrote: "What does she win?"

She's Queen Sarah for a day. If you had won, we would have dropped the h.

Don't be discouraged, though. And remember, you have to play to win.

I'm still unsure what the game is, exactly. But ok.

message 46: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments Larry - i did watch the dylan version and it was much better than more recent stuff. a new appreciation. here is the edie brickell cover:

But not with the same style we do in Wisconsin

message 48: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments right. they wear them on the beach with a $4500 gold nugget necklace

So does that go in the spreadsheet formula?

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Sally wrote: "So does that go in the spreadsheet formula?"

I think that it had better, but will surely change the formula, Larry's got his work cut out for him.
