Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I think we need an after-dark thread for those late-night conversations. It should be appropriately decorated.

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Would it be okay if I just sit at the bar drinking but not really engaging with anyone?

message 6: by Gingerlily - The Full Wild (last edited Mar 22, 2014 05:23PM) (new)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I can change the walls if you want Joo, or you can suggest something you prefer...

Just don't disturb Jamie while he drinks and broods.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments We need some moody background music. Anyone have a suggestion for some mellow late night jazz or something?

message 8: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments I'll just sidestep the opportunity to make reference to my jazz themed novel and suggest a bit of bill evans.
Bill Evans - Waltz For Debby: http://youtu.be/dH3GSrCmzC8

message 9: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments By the way, since we've set the mood. I've just learned that the legendary agent Carole Blake is showing an interest in Goodreads. She has really interesting twitter and FB feeds and has rejected my novels repeatedly. If she shows up here I'll buy her a drink and ask her to rethink.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Good idea. Anything could happen here...

Never submitted my stuff to an agent of any sort, knowing my luck any agent that turns up here is more likely to be a repo man

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Elephant jigsaw puzzles? As it seems to be full of dark and brooding tortured souls lined up at the bar and staring into the distance, I'm not sure if jigsaw puzzles will go down that well....

I think I was a bit optimistic looking for cosy chats here...

message 15: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I found this for you, GL http://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/ima... then realised it said 'chats'.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Ok, ok, I'll turn the heating up!

message 17: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I should think so; the sun may be shining, but there's a cool breeze blowing. Put a drop of brandy in that hot chocolate and I will return tonight. :~)

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments You don't want to get too dark and brooding or you might get some of those pesky vampires showing up.

message 19: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments and they'd just sparkle and totally ruin the atmosphere

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Only in daylight, apparently.

message 21: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I sparkle all the time!

Oh wait, that's the glitter Patti threw at me

message 22: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Wilcox (lyndawrites) | 1059 comments I'm not at my sparkling best at the moment. I'll come back later when I'm dark and mysterious.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I do like the music by the way - exactly the ambience I was aiming at. But if anyone wants to suggest something else do feel free. Nothing too upbeat and shiny though.

message 24: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments In keeping with my new Romantic persona I've decided to cover up the glitter with a black all in one suit with loads of pockets, and bulk order some boxes of Milk Tray.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Will you should be here - im in Starbucks and it has been non-stop blues for the last 40 minutes!

message 26: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Envious.

But it's non stop blues here too. I'm playing Miles Davis whilst formatting text for Smashwords

message 27: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Ah, you've got the Smashwords not acceptable for premium blues!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments the mossie coil is lit. the pool is gently burbling. the beer is cold. I've demanded Dave use his ear buds.
complete peace...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Sounds lovely Patti.

message 30: by Richard (new)

Richard Martinus | 551 comments Sounds like the first line of a song, only it don't rhyme.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Its probably free jazz then...

I've got the smashwords 'the file is too big' (it isn't) blues.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It all goes under the heading of 'Computer Blues'. Or 'Computers are not even remotely user friendly, at least not for humans, Blues'.

You think it's bad now, wait 'til SkyNet becomes sentient.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Google already IS sentient, I fear

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It'll be soylent green for us all soon...

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Know any good recipes for that?

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Would probably be better with some rum added. Or any type of alcohol actually

message 42: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Wilcox (lyndawrites) | 1059 comments Can't we just have normal bar snacks? With alcohol, of course.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I've just got a delivery of olives, and a few barrels of salted peanuts are on the way.

message 44: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Could we have crisps too? When I've had ale and it gets late I like nice crisps. I'm happy to share, I'm ever so generous in the small hours.

message 45: by David (new)

David Manuel | 1112 comments Soylent crisps are...potatoes!

message 46: by Lynda (new)

Lynda Wilcox (lyndawrites) | 1059 comments Soylent tapas, perhaps? Hmm. Looks as if there ought to be an anagram in there, somewhere.
