I'm a big 70s scifi fan so I'd push Rollerball , Logans Run,Planet of the Apes and Soylent Green
I don't think I could force myself through Avatar again but I do have a soft spot for Independence day .
Couple obvious ones - star wars, BladeRunner, Robocop, Total Recall,
I liked the redo of Judge dredd St hey did title Dredd.
Another lesser known movie I caught one space channel many years ago and loved but took me years to find the title too is called Enemy Mine, we'll worth the watch.

Enemy Mine sounds very interesting. Tempted to make it my Tuesday random scifi movie for a scifi month blog post. I'm trying to puck stuff I've never heard of.

I loved Enemy Mine, but it has a poor reputation in some circles. I thought Dredd was surprisingly great, a nice throwback to some classic action films.
I think another underrated throwback action/sci-fi was Lockout with Guy Pierce. A perfect recapturing of the over-the-top, campy, one-liner glib action movies of the 80's.
Speaking of, I guess I'd throw in Predator, Alien, Aliens, and Terminator 1 and 2. I really liked Predators also, and don't understand why fans of the original don't lol
I remember actually being moved by enemy mine. It's not a huge budget film by any standards but it's still decent. I re-watched it not long ago and still liked it.
Is predators the one with Adrian Brody I think? If so I thought it was the best entry in that franchise in a long time.

Kidding of course, but I have trouble understanding the consistency. It's like when people "hate" a sitcom after barely watching one episode, and they refuse to watch further because it has audience laugh-tracks. And I'm like, "Oh...you didn't like Seinfield, Frasier, Friends, Cosby Show, Three's Company--" Then they're all "NO! I liked THOSE shows!"... -_-
I agree about Enemy Mine too. It was really cool story about an unlikely friendship and the true meaning of family ^_^

Overall, I think my rating consistency is probably lazy and impulsive. :)
Lots of 4 star ratings. A couple I've watched recently that I wouldn't call unmissable just yet but that you guys might enjoy are: Ex Machina and Predestination.

The first Chronicles of Riddick was REALLY good in my opinion! But I didn't like the Director's Cut of it as much, which is rare lol I also didn't like the sequel. Pitch Black was pretty fun though.
Another amazing Vin Diesel film, if it counts, is THE IRON GIANT! Amazing movie, one of my favorites. And then from there I could also tag The Incredibles, which opens a whole other connected genre, which then also begs the question of vampire movies and stuff...I'll stop LOL

Please have noted some really good movies. I'd add in Wall-E, Contact, E.T. and Metropolis
Metropolis that a golden oldie. I've say through it once, absolutely a masterpiece for its time but don't think I could do it again.
I'm not big into anime but I'd like to through out the movie Akira from the late 80s
TETSUOOOOO
