With the completion of the first 4 books in the Deverry series, we have completed the first "story arc" in the series. This thread is just a place to share your overall reactions so far: favorite characters or incarnations, speculations about the future (NO SPOILERS), general likes and dislikes.

I'm assuming we'll hear more about Nevyn's creation of the one king back in whatever previous incarnation it was - I'm still intrigued by Brangwen's lifetime as a man.

I hope so. I'm intrigued by that as well.

I have to say that Cullyn, over the 4 books, developed into one of my favorite characters--lots of personal growth there, I thought.

Kerry (rocalisa) | 487 comments I completely agree about Cullyn. He has so much growth through the books and I always felt there was a clear implication that he had finally managed to leave the "taint" of his past lives behind and move forward to better things both in this life and in future lives.

I've read the next three books (I think, maybe the next two, I'll have to look it up). Be aware that this arc turns out to be quite small in terms of its setting and scope. The world opens up a lot from here, in wide and fascinating ways. I'm loving it, but the first time I tried to read the second arc, I stalled out because I wanted more of the same. I wanted more Rhodry and Jill and Deverry. We get that, but there is so much more to the story as well. Be drawn in by that, don't be put off like I was.

Good to know, Kerry, thanks for the insight. I read these 4 and the next 4 books years & years ago, but have basically no memory of them.
