Mike and Tia decide to put spy software on their 16-year old son's (Adam's) computer after he starts acting oddly, a few months after one of his best friends committed suicide. Adam appears to have some kind of secret... a big one. In the meantime, women are disappearing and being murdered. And much more...

Another very good book by Coben, although I didn't like it nearly as much as The Woods. He brought back a few of the characters from The Woods. As a Canadian, I did like the hockey references. Coben does a very good job of bringing together all the characters and various storylines going on in the book.

Once again, I really liked this. It’s been long enough since I read this the first time that I really didn’t remember anything. Although some things came back to mind as I was reading them, any twists and turns were a surprise to me again this time around. There were a lot of characters, a lot going on, but I found the characters fairly easy to follow who was who. A drawback to writing about technology – already some of it has been surpassed by more technology!

I read this one. I remember enjoying this page turning mystery but I forget the punchline. I forget the solution to the mystery. If you don't mind using the (view spoiler)[... (hide spoiler)] to remind me how it ended.

I will try to summarize the end when I get home from work (on my lunch break now, and it's almost over!) and can figure out how best to describe it.

Ok... this is a bit (a lot?) detailed, only because it was pretty detailed!!!

(view spoiler)[Trying to think this through, in part because there were two things going on...

Adam's friend who committed suicide had been stealing prescription pads from Adam's dad (who was a doctor) and writing out prescriptions (or others might have been doing the writing) in order to get them and sell them. There was a larger group of people involved here.

The murders were done by (I need to get this straight in my head - lots of people and connections here!) the brother-in-law of a teacher who had said something stupid to one of the students in his class (in front of the class).

That student was a friend of Jill's (Adam's sister), and she was bullied forever after for the reference that teacher made. The first woman murdered was the mother of the student, who had gone to the teacher, seduced him, and taped it for revenge. She then threatened to send the video to the teacher's wife. The next woman, a friend of that mother, was murdered because the brother-in-law thought she might also have a copy.

It all came to a head when the brother-in-law had the girl, her father, and Jill cornered in the girl (and her father's) house, and was ready to kill them all. (hide spoiler)]
