Blue | 825 comments I read it maybe 4 years ago, maybe a little more than that.

The MC's sister was either lost or kidnapped. I want to say they were teenagers but I am pretty sure the book was aimed towards a more mature audience.

The MC is deaf or mute, and the love interest has to learn sign language.

This is all I remember as I only read a few pages.
