My question...do you ever write first hand experiences or are these all from ideas in your brilliant mind? :D

Hi Nicole! Thanks for loving my books! <3 I definitely pull inspiration from my life as well as from what I dream up in my mind. A lot of inspiration also comes from talking to strangers, traveling, and listening to stories from friends and family members. :)

If you could be any book character for a day, who would you choose and why?"
Hi, Zsuzsa! Okay, I know it's probably not a very original answer but... Hermoine Granger! I just NEED to live in the real life of the Harry Potter series for a day! ;)

Hi Katrina! One thing I really want for Christmas is a cute tea pot. I have really gotten into tea lately and I have a coffee pot but want a little tea set. :) How about you?

Hey, Nicole! Honestly, my answer to this changes every time I get asked. I swear it just depends on the day LOL. But, today, I'd say Cooper from On the Way to You. She's just so bright and sunshiney and she's been through SO MUCH. Plus, writing her journey with a stranger in a car that she is slowly falling in love with was MAGICAL.

Hi, Ann! My first (published) book was Tag Chaser. I was inspired because my ex-husband was in the military at the time, and I would listen to him and his buddies talk about tag chasers and it was so cruel. I thought it would be interesting to write a story from HER pov, from the "tag chaser" who maybe has more to her story than she lets through. <3

I have so many! One of them is to finish my proposal for my first motivational book so I can get that baby out into the world soon. <3

I read literally EVERYTHING. I love romance, mystery, thriller, fantasy, dystopian, YA, nonfiction, etc etc. I haven't written a fantasy, but I never say never! :)

Hi, Tammy! If I wasn't an author, I think I'd probably be in social media/marketing. That was my big girl job before I quit to write full time a few years ago. :)

THIS IS SO HARD. But, gun to my head, I'd say On the Way to You. I think some of my best writing is in that book and I always recommend it to people who are new to me. :)

Btw I just recently read Becker Brothers on time for Manhattan's release and I am so excited for it!! I love them <3

Ahhh I'm so excited, too! Manhattan JUST went live. You can read it now! <3
As for your question, I'd say the one I had the most memorable experience writing was A Love Letter to Whiskey. That book POURED out of me, like... in 9 weeks when I was still working full time. IT WAS WILD. And I was so immersed in those characters and their story!

Have you read Legacy yet? ;) https://amzn.to/36SqPgz

I would go to Turkey! I'd eat ALL the food. Check out Cappadocia. Of course go to Pamukkale. Hike in Mugla. So much!

Thank you so much, Ann Marie! Honestly, there are only two series I've ever re-read. I have so many books to read so I usually move forward through my TBR. But the ones I do enjoy re-reading from time to time are the Harry Potter series and the Twilight series. :)

First thank you for letting Charlie end up with Cameron. I was holding my breath throughout half the book waiting for them to end up together. 😁
My question is.. when you write a character do you think about their past first and have that in mind while writing or do you just write character and see it develop as you write?
Thanks.

Hi Zaira! Yes it is. You can read about my inspiration for the series here! https://www.instagram.com/p/B6Vm-9dgZ8F/

Hi Salma! I'm so glad you enjoyed the duet. <3 I absolutely think about the character's past before and while I'm writing them. I have a whole character "beat sheet" that I make that includes everything from their background story, internal conflict, external conflict, and mannerisms to their Enneagram number, biggest fear and motivator, physical description, birthday and more!

I have always been a sucker for love, an absolutely hopeless romantic. When I was younger, I loved watching romance movies and TV shows and reading books with romantic elements. In college, I studied primarily nonfiction writing, but when I started reading for pleasure again after college, it was right at the start of the indie romance boom (in 2012) and I just HAD to be a part of it. I had so many love stories in my head that I was dying to tell!

Hmmm... the most FUN to write about? Probably Belle in The Wrong Game. She's the best friend to Gemma ( and will be getting her own book soon enough ) and she was just SO HILARIOUS. She surprised me while writing her. I loved building this complex best friend who played such a vital role in the story!

Hi, Emily! I have been writing since I was in the third grade and reading since I first learned my ABC's. I've just always had a pull to the written word. I told my mom in 4th grade that when I grew up, I wanted to be JK Rowling. LOL! So, it's always been in me. I always knew I wanted to be a writer, I just never imagined I'd ever make money from it. ;)

Hi, Maddie! Okay, your question is SO NOT FAIR. Seriously I don't even know how people do this! I can BARELY make a top list of the year haha. I really can't name a top 5, at least not without some SERIOUS serious thought and sitting down to go through all the books I've ever read before haha but I will say that my top five for THIS YEAR are:
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
A Lesson in Thorns by Sierra Simone
Verity by Colleen Hoover
Filthy Vows by Alessandra Torre
Also, I'm reading an ARC of The Wives by Tarryn Fisher and I know it doesn't come out until next year but OMG IT'S AMAZING. It'll definitely top my list!
