I'll nominate Sarah Waters' novel Fingersmith (2002) -- historical crime fiction set in the Victorian era but this book is far from cozy.

Duygu | 2 comments I nominate Unwind . Not sure if this counts as thriller?

I've read it, quite different.

One of the categories is thriller, but it seems to be mainly SciFi. I'll add it unless you have another selection?

The first book in the Karen Pirie series. The 6th book in this series was published this year (Still Life), time to get into this series!

P.J. Mordant (pollyjay) I nominate "The Dry" by Jane Harper. Moody crime thriller amidst Australian drought. Intelligent and splendid.

We're looking for mysteries written between 2000 and 2009 for this group read, P.J. This would fit in the February 2021 group read. It was written in 2016. Any other nominations?

message 15: by Bill (new)

Bill I'll keep the nominations open until tomorrow then set up the poll.

Thanks Tone. Much appreciated. The book was written in 2016 anyway, so wouldn't fit the category

Aditya | 2017 comments Ehh I forgot to nominate. But it is an eclectic bunch, a couple bordering on historical fiction and a sci-fi book.
