Hi Joel,

I hope you’ll consider reviewing my latest novel, and winner of the Literary Titan Golden Book Award, “Yuri & the Pig” (87,000 words [282 pages] published by Wild Wolf Publishing on September 1, 2023), a work of fiction based on the current war in Ukraine. However, the countries involved are fictitious, too.

Some excerpts from editorial reviews:
“C W Lovatt's storytelling is masterful…” ~ Readers’ Favorite
“Lovatt's novel is a literary gem …” ~ A Look Inside
“A genuinely thought-provoking novel, it beckons readers to reflect on the intricate dance of life, growth, and self-discovery.” ~ Literary Titan

The following is the blurb:

“From the best-selling author of the Charlie Smithers adventures.

A farmer and his pig set off on an extraordinary quest across war-torn Eastern Europe.

Entangled in a savage war, the country of Xoraina is fighting for its very existence; but to Yuri, a simple peasant from a remote mountain village, it seems all but certain that the invading Zlaimperians must ultimately prevail. Not that it is of any consequence to him, of course. In Yuri’s view, every form of government is equally bad, so it makes very little difference who holds the reins of power. Indeed, throughout time, the only things that have ever really mattered are that the soil be tilled, the cows milked, and the pigs shipped to market, all in a timely fashion.

But when an exorbitant new tax threatens that philosophy, he sets off with his pig across the war-ravaged land to the Capital in order to fight the injustice. In the process, their journey becomes a road to a terrible enlightenment, causing Yuri to question his deeply seated beliefs. But only when he and his pig find themselves placed squarely in destiny’s path is there any hope of those questions finding answers.”

If interested, please contact me at [email protected] and I’ll arrange for you to receive an e-copy in the format you prefer.

Thank you for your time.

Michelle, The Book Critic (michellethebookcritic) | 5 comments Hi Joel,

I’m a book reviewer just like you, but I would like to forward a review opportunity from my author friend, Loris Owen. You can contact her at [email protected]

She is currently working on the US edit of her middle-grade literary fiction novel, 'The Ten Riddles of Eartha Quicksmith', published in the UK by Firefly Press. It's clean fiction, is a fantasy action adventure for fans of Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter, and has been described as "Big Hero 6 meets Gravity Falls"!

Puzzles and riddles encourage critical thinking, and teamwork, empathy, family and friendships are important throughout. You can find out more at www.quicksmiths.com.

As she’s self-publishing in the US with no author presence there, and only has a small budget to do this, I'm really keen to help to spread the word to other reviewers!

She can send you a copy of the UK print (whether you are based in the UK or US) any time. The US print version won't be available for another month or so as she is still finalising illustrations and final touches.

If you interested, please email Loris at [email protected]! Let her know if you'd like the UK print or prefer to wait for the US print :)

If you are not based in the UK or US, let her know as well. I’m not entirely sure if she ships internationally, but you can always check! Her ebook will be ready to share in a few more weeks as well.

Hey,

I have 3-in-1 deal for you. Last year (2023) I put my debut novel, Blood Herring, out into the world. Think buddy cop mystery mixed with vampires. You can see the reviews for my baby book and the companion novella, Vampire's Cold Case, here on GoodReads:

Blood Herring: Keep Your Enemies Closer
The Vampire's Cold Case

May 31st, 2024, my sequel, Blood Renegade will go live and pre-orders start now.

Because I realize it's hard to review a sequel without reading the first novel, I'm offering both novels and the companion novella. I would really appreciate honest reviews for all three, but will still be eternally grateful for a review of the newest book.

Let me know if you're intersted.

Hey Joel,
Thanks for offering the honest review.

I'm including a link to the first four chapters of my debut novel, Blood Herring, as well as the Goodreads link at the bottom. It's a Cozy Urban Fantasy that I've had many romance readers dive in only to fall in love the characters and relationships. Despite being a full novel, I've had many readers come to me and say they read the whole book in one afternoon.

If you find you enjoy, I'd be giving you a digital ARC for the original and the upcoming sequel.

Please reach out with any questions and happy reading!

I'm Caitlin, and I’m working with an upcoming author, Amy Breen, to help get the word out about her book, Tranquila, a humorous and personal family journey full of mishaps, adventure, and mental health struggles as the author transitions from a handle-it-all doctor and mother in the States to full-time expat parent living in Barcelona.

About my book: The air is thick and dense with black smoke. I've screamed their names till my lungs burned. I’m choking and coughing, and trying to stay as close to the ground as possible. He said he would be right back. They both would be right back, but seconds turn into minutes. I stumble around and catch a glimpse of an amber glow, the glow of a flashlight coming closer. I cry out as I run to them, run to the two that hold my heart in their palms. I run towards them, for they were my protectors, my everything.

Genre is high erotic romance (18+) with M/M and M/F/M pairings. There is a content warning which can be viewed on my website.

Hi Laura,

My debut novel, Shattered Lives, is releasing 6/25. It's a dual POV, slow burn, M/F story with dark elements. Here is the back cover blurb...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some damages can’t be hidden…
CHARLIE
PTSD is a bitch.
I lived through sadistic horrors no one should be forced to endure. After my medical discharge from the military four years ago, I thought my physical scars were the worst souvenir I’d have.
I was wrong.
Now, I teeter on an emotional razor’s edge. I’m terrified of men. I can’t handle darkness. I battle night terrors, flashbacks, and panic attacks, and I’m always armed to the teeth.
Those bastards didn’t just rape me. They destroyed me.
MARK
Career-ending, life-changing injuries are a bitch.
An IED on a routine mission in Afghanistan left me fighting to survive. A lot of days, I wish I hadn’t. I lost everything – my career, my home, my brothers-in-arms, my purpose.
And of course, my leg.
Now I’m half a man, useless, worthless, destined to spend my life alone. If it weren’t for Charlie, my best friend for more than two decades, I’d end it all.
Then I end up with a front-row seat to her devastating night terrors.
Charlie’s pain gives me a new purpose. She’s helping me with my physical recovery. I’ll help with her emotional recovery. I owe her too much to do anything else.
Especially since every bit of the hell she’s been through is my fault.
NOTE: This is Book 1 in a completed three-book series (all publishing this summer). These books need to be read in order. Charlie and Mark’s journeys to self-acceptance will conclude in Book 3 of the SHATTERED trilogy.
NOTE: The series ends with a HEA, but the first and second novels do not.
TRIGGER WARNING: Please read the note from the author and a sample of the first chapter for free on my website at www.phoenix-wolfe.com/sample-of-chapt... to see if this book is a fit for you. Specific trigger warnings are located inside this book.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If this sounds like something you would be interested in reading/ reviewing, please contact me at [email protected] if you are interested. I can send it to you in epub or pdf.

Warmly,
Phoenix

B.H Ariks | 5 comments Hi Joel,

I'm a new author looking for some good honest feedback. My work is in the romantic erotica genre, but I'm struggling to define it otherwise.

My story follows a disabled veteran, Kinsley Nyx Knight. It is a plausible fantasy that takes place in a mirrored realm of elf human hybrids in the modern age. There are three parts about 60k words a piece for the why choose, reverse harem/ poly tale. The story at it's heart is a romance, that focuses on the weak to strong journey of Nyx. A dark comedy that introduces readers to concepts of overcoming trauma, disabilities, BDSM and group dynamics. Smut with an educational twist I suppose, touching on darker themes balanced with the lighter ones. It does include organized crime as well as straight, gay, and bisexual interactions with the main cast.

If you are interested in giving the first book a try, please let me know. Thank you :)

Blurb
Sadistic work coach James Burgess has finally bagged his dream job after three years of trying, two hundred miles from home in rural Gwynedd, north Wales. But with promotion firmly in mind, cutting the jobcentre's wage bill soon becomes his sport, at any cost, leaving a trail of chaos and hunger in his wake.

As house prices soar and job prospects dwindle, many of James' ''casualties of war'' wind up at Morywelon homeless hostel, where the waiting list is insatiable. Managing such a place takes gall, and Denise Groves' ten-year stint certainly took its psychological toll. But she's back for a second spell, to the job she loved and held since leaving school with no GCSEs.

The catch? Well, this time, their security guards have been laid off...

Denise fiercely defends residents against ignorant scorn the wider community assumes to inflict, so is held in the highest regard by most. But tough decisions must be made, and hell-raisers don't always leave when asked nicely...

Denise needs her support network more than ever, but it's fallen off a cliff. After a decade in the 'single lane', all best mate Jules wants is to set her up. Great, if only for Jules' dodgy choice of men. Seedy, serial cockney scammer Rick is her latest, and has a few turbulent potential answers for Denise's 'problem'.

I have a fantasy romance if you'd be interested. Please email me at [email protected] for an ARC copy. I am pasting the bio below for you to review:

Annabelle Argyle isn’t just unstable—she’s dangerous.

As one of the few omniwalkers who can wield all four elements, she’s been confined to the Aldoren base her entire life, training under the oppressive rule of Elementari law. To the Kingdom, her power is a threat that must be controlled. To the rebels in Zedara, she’s a weapon worth dying for.

When her unstable powers spark an accident, Annabelle is forced to train with Theo, an infuriatingly arrogant firewalker. But Theo has his own secrets, and when rebellion explodes across the land, Annabelle finds herself ambushed and thrust into a conflict she never asked for.

Caught between the ruthless Kingdom and the rebels who claim to fight for freedom, Annabelle discovers that both sides are hiding dangerous truths. With enemies closing in and allies she can’t trust, she faces a choice: use her power to support the rebellion, ally with the King, or forge her own path—even if it means turning against everyone she loves.

Hi, Joel, would you be interested a Southeast-Asian Magical Realism? That's the main genre but it's also close to Contemporary and YA.

In the summer of 2002, a 13-year-old boy and his mother moved to a small town, Banca.

It seems peaceful and the people nice. But when the rain begins to fall, the boy begins to realize that there is something wrong in this quiet town. A girl disappears and his classmates and teacher are the least to care. And when he started to search for answers, he discovered that there were more. An elderly neighbor warned him and suddenly, the town isn't what it seems to be.

Viewing Window is a timeless yet eerie story set in a small, quiet town in the Philippines. It focuses on the mundane part of Filipinos whose traditions and supernatural beliefs merged into their realities and everyday lives.

message 46: by Leyla (new)

Leyla | 4 comments I just finished a novel that opens with this line:

“When my mother died, my father smiled and said: your mother is dead.”

From that moment, I couldn’t stop asking:
Was it a natural death… or did the father kill her?

The book doesn’t give a clear answer — it leaves it to the reader to judge. That ambiguity really stuck with me. It’s not a thriller in the traditional sense, but the tension is constant and internal. You feel like you’re holding your breath, waiting for someone to tell the truth that never comes.

If you enjoy slow-burn psychological stories where silence is the real weapon — this might be for you.

📚 It’s currently free on Kindle if anyone wants to read it and weigh in — I’d honestly love to hear what others think happened.

Sam Stone | 56 comments For Fans of High-Stakes Thrillers, Real-World Tactics, and Relentless Action

Hi everyone,

I’m Sam Stone — longtime law enforcement commander and author of REAPER – A Task Force Raven Thriller. I wanted to introduce my new novel to fellow fans of gritty, high-impact storytelling.

REAPER follows a Texas Ranger special operations team as they uncover a cartel-backed terrorist plot unfolding on American soil. Think Jack Carr meets Sicario — layered with real-world law enforcement and military experience. It’s fast-paced, grounded in authentic tactics, and built for readers who like their thrillers razor-sharp and unflinching.

I’d love to connect with anyone interested in the genre. Happy to share ARCs or just chat thrillers and tactics. Feel free to reply or message me directly.

📘 REAPER – A Task Force Raven Thriller is available in paperback, hardcover, ebook, and audiobook.

Kenan Buchanan | 4 comments Hey Joel. I'd love to give you an ARC of my first book! I hope you enjoy! https://forms.gle/ajevQzsCJxry6U6W9

The Second Artificer
Thaddeus built a machine to bring his wife back from the dead.
It opened a Rift instead.
Now, trapped in a dying world where time folds, memories betray, and magic devours the mind that wields it, Thaddeus must unravel the truth behind the collapse of reality — before it erases him completely.
But every answer comes with a cost, and the deeper he goes, the more he realizes:
He’s not the first to try.
He may not even be the last.
Featuring recursive timelines, fractured identity, demonic contracts, a dragon king, and a casino that feeds on memory, this novel is a metaphysical descent into grief, power, and the price of going beyond what was meant for man to understand.
