BarryP (barrypz) | 3499 comments Almost depressing that 150 books/year puts me at the bottom of the scale.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16941 comments Thanks Barry, interesting article. I usually set my goal low enough to not feel pressure to put any books aside when they might slow me down. The last person in the article looked to be abandoning goal pressure with her 2024 goal of 12 and already hitting it. (And usually reading many more)

BarryP (barrypz) | 3499 comments That last one gave me hope since my monthly goal is roughly 12 books.

GailW (abbygg) | 526 comments This addicted-to-overachieving self read the article and all I could think of was "why?".

message 6: by BarryP (new)

BarryP (barrypz) | 3499 comments I was thinking more along the lines of how much else of my life would I have to give up. But I have felt that for other "passions" I have seen online too. Balance is not bad.

Oh, I didn't mean your 12/month. I think your goal is realistic. I meant the 300+ club. I can't even comprehend reading that many.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16941 comments I’m with you Gail on wondering about the 300+ club and like you Barry, what I would have to give up. I could probably do an audiobook a day if I had more time to listen while doing repetitive tasks but feel I would miss out on the reflective part of reading post book and between listening or page time.
