Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

This is kind of an odd one.

So, I recently found out about a horror novel that sounds interesting by an author named Alex Gonzalez. However, the novel and several other books and magazines Gonzalez has contributed to are listed on an incorrect author page for a completely different person, named Álex González (note the accent marks). These books should be moved to an author page for Alex Gonzalez the horror author, but Gonzalez already has an account on Goodreads, and it’s not an author account. So, how should this be handled?

If any librarians helping out in this thread want a list of Alex Gonzalez the horror author’s books and magazines on the site, please let me know and I’ll post it.

The same way we handle any other disambiguation: we move them to a new profile.

Please post in the Book Issues folder and include a link for each title that needs to be moved.

Got it. I thought the author already having an account but not an author profile would cause an issue of some kind.
