Alicia (aliciaaliciaalicia) | 39 comments Topic says the gist of what I was thinking. I just know that I usually try to read the most recommended and popular books that I see everyone post about. But I was kind of curious about how many different authors people would recommend.

So I guess if you had me put it to a question it would be: What author's would you recommend that you feel are not as popular/publicized as your think they should be.

Thanks :)

Mhollie | 178 comments Charlotte Featherstone a/k/a
Sophie Renwick

I just love her books. Just read Lust & it was fantastic!

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 608 comments The title should be "Recommend less publicized authors" if you want to get a list of those that are just not as well known. I'd hate to put an author I felt was really good on an "unpopular" list.

Alicia (aliciaaliciaalicia) | 39 comments changed, I thought the same thing, but I was rushed that day.

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 608 comments Good for you! I like that better but I know about typing and then thinking better about it later! LOL

Mine would be (and these are AT THE TOP FAVORITES)
Juliet Marillier and
C.L. Wilson

I just read C.L. Wilson's Tairen soul series TWICE in six weeks - could not leave that incredible story.

I have read and own every book Juliet Marillier has written, some in both soft cover and hard cover. Hard to find her books at the bookstores. No better story teller out there.

Totally agree with you on Charlotte Featherstone. I haven't been able to get my hands on Addicted, but Sinful was AMAZING. I actually cried a few times lol

Elizabeth Kolodziej (ejkolodziej) | 107 comments I love that you started this post. :) Very good idea. I would recommend Lauren Hammond of Love Sucks.

J.S. Chancellor. She had her debut book out in november 2010 Son of Ereubus. The book is just amazing and i love her work already

Jan (janoda) I like Dana Marie Bell. I liked Bear Necessities most by her, but her Halle Puma's series is quite all right too.

The book I recommend to everyone until they crack down and read it is The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook, but I think there's quite a lot people like me out there, because it's rapidly gaining in popularity.

Moira Rogers' books are always enterntaining and thrilling.

Sandy | 449 comments Barbara Bretton. the first book I read by her is Casting Spells

message 11: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) Marjorie M. Liu seems to be a paranormal author not many people talk about in this group I notice. I really enjoy her Dirk & Steele series. They are reissuing the series with a different publisher this year. Tiger Eye (Dirk & Steele Series #1) by Marjorie M. Liu was published at the end of December and a new book comes out each month. Maybe with the new publishing she will become more popular.

Anne Marsh (annemarsh) | 3 comments I read Meljean Brook's "The Iron Duke" in December (I cracked-- because enough people were recommending it) and fell in love. If you like that book, I'd also recommend Gail Carriger's "Parasol Protectorate" series. I loved C.L.Wilson as well and devoured the first two books, but now I'm waiting until she finishes the series (I think there's one more book to go) as I'd rather read them all through.

message 13: by Lisa M (new)

Lisa M (lamessegee) | 248 comments I seem to be the only one singing the praises of Shannon K Butcher's Sentinel Wars. I don't know if that's because others don't like the series, or because she's not well known. But I think the series is excellent!

Jessica Bair-Epps | 725 comments I haven't really read any of Shannon Butcher's but loved her short story in Dark and Stormy Knights. I'm waiting on one of her books from the library.

I found Addicted on the Kindle. So you could download the Kindle Ap for the PC or other device and read it like that.

message 16: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) I really enjoy Stephani Hecht - she has several series, but in the PNR front - her archangerls series which starts with Angel Warriors - she also has a couple of M/M PNR series but I know that isn't for everyone

message 17: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amanda31085) | 17 comments Kristie Cook, her Soul Savers Series is really great, has a awsome story, I think there are only 2 books in it right now but its worth a try for sure, The first one is called "Promise".

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 608 comments I read a lot and having discovered C.L. Wilson's Tairen Soul series in December, it has moved to my very favorite series EVER. These were her first and to date only books - anxiously waiting for the next one which will be a stand alone. I have several authors I LOVE, but no one that I have read has written a story to beat this one. I just finished the fifth book - for the second read of the series since December.

*Angela* | 56 comments I don't think Reynolds, D. B. gets enough attention. Her "Vampires in America" series is a great read.

message 20: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 451 comments The Battle Sylph and The Shattered Sylph by L.J. McDonald were fabulous. There's a third book supposed to come out later in the year, I think.

message 21: by Laura (new)

Laura Williams | 21 comments I just finished Desire Untamed, byPamela Palmer. It was really good. It sort of reminded me of The Blackdagger Brotherhood Series but instead of vampires, these books are about shifters. I found Pamela Palmer because she is going on a book tour with Jeaniene Frost this month.

The series finished with the fifth book, though she may do a spin-off series. She certainly has a very well-developed world to play in.

In addition to C.L. Wilson, I recommend Jean Johnson. Her Sons of Destiny series was excellent, and she's written one spin-off book to date and I believe is planning another. The world building and character development is excellent. I found this series to be funnier than the Tairen Soul series.

I would put both of these series more on the fantasy-side of PNR. Not anywhere close to UF.
