From the 'note on sources' in the back of my book:
"In chapters 1-4 I have relied on Andrea's original letters to Giustiniana, which are are still in my family's possession. ...This section also contains several letters from Giustiniana to Andrea from the period of 1756-1757."

I'm really enjoying this - it's much more comprehensive than I thought! It's fascinating to know it's all true too.

I'm going to try to start this today.
I'll be honest, it doesn't look that fantastic to me...
But I figure since it's here, and since it's fairly short, I might as well give it a try :)

I'm finding this interesting thus far; however, I am a bit tired of the star-crossed lovers tone to it all.

I like it that he's incorporated their letters into the story. It makes it that much more personal to hear the voices of the people involved.
