When I was writing my story about two teenagers who discover the wreckage from the International Space Station, I intended to call it 'Waste of Space.' I had three reasons:

1. Mo my reluctant hero's step-father called him a waste of space.
2. The story is set on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert. Boundless and bare to some it is a waste of space.
3. The wreckage the teens discovered in the crater actually was waste from space.

At the last minute I changed the title to: The Biocide Conspiracy: Return of the International Space Station so that readers would get a better idea what the story was about, but in my heart and to me, it always will be 'Waste of Space'.

A.B. Shepherd (abshepherd) | 1 comments I actually think Waste of Space would have been a great title for this book. When I saw the name Biocide Conspiracy I was a bit leery of reading it because I generally am not a fan of books about conspiracies and anything related to politics.

I loved the book as it was written and found it to be more of an adventure/thriller rather than a conspiracy story.

Thank you for stopping by Cheryl.
Actually, my husband was against me changing the title and I think you and he could be right. Possibly, The Biocide Conspiracy is too much of a grown up title for a young adult thriller.
Cheers,
Ann
