Killer Genius started with watching and reading all of the installments of the Hannibal Lecter stories and wondering to myself, what if a black woman had Hannibal Lecter's will and mental resources? As a kid, I used to slay English class. Seriously, it was ridiculous. The encouragement, along with my love of sci-fi, horror and everything nerd basically led to the rest. I'm always inspired to write. It's just how I'm built.

I'm slowly pulling another serial killer story together, that will not have any repercussions on the Killer Genius sequels, but will see a visit from some of the Killer Genius characters. Of course there are the next Killer Genius and Brookwater's Curse installments to get done. I also have a bunch of short stories I'm working on. There is always something.

I usually get up and walk away. I'll get some air. Go to the gym. Go to the bar. Get on my motorcycle (not at the same time or in that order- LOL) I'll do something to shake things up in my head. I might even work on a different writing project. When I come back, I'm usually ready to continue.
