Hi Kathy,
Sorry I didn't see your message until now! At this point I don't plan to do a sequel to "Love on the Air," although I would never say never. Right now, however, I do have a series about to launch. The Evergreen Lane novels are set in the southern California mountain town of Tall Pine, and the first three are all Christmas romances. The first book, "Do You Believe in Santa?", will be out in October.
Thanks for writing!

Creating characters I love and giving them a happily-ever-after. How cliched is that?!

"Ignore it." -- Jack Smith, L.A. Times journalist, at a writing conference I attended many years ago.
If I'm stuck, I hang in there at the keyboard for a while. Sometimes walking away from it for a bit and doing some non-brainy activity, like plucking my eyebrows or folding laundry, gets the juices flowing again. If that doesn't work, I try, try again the next day. The important thing is not to give up.

Don't expect to be brilliant right away. (This was hard for me to accept.) Learn your craft. Pay attention to that pesky punctuation and grammar -- flaws will pull readers out of your story. Revise! But don't revise forever. Get your story as good as you can make it. Then move on to the next one.
And DON'T believe the rumor that publishers aren't buying books from new authors anymore. It still happens!

My second Christmas romance. The working title is "Do You Believe in Santa?". And yes, my heroine does believe in Santa Claus. My hero, on the other hand ...

Jack London once said, "You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." I was eternally grateful to him for admitting this.
Ideas for scenes and lines of dialog will zap me at random when I'm going about my business (often when there's not a pen or a keyboard within easy reach). But on a day-to-day basis, I need to sit down and write, whether inspiration is calling me or not!

I've always loved Christmas, but I've struggled with holiday stress as an adult. So I was brainstorming a story about a heroine with the same problem. Okay, she meets a nice guy who shows her the joy of the holiday season, brings a Christmas tree to her house, etc. Something was missing, and then it came to me:
He's Fred.
That's Scrooge's cheery nephew, one of my favorite characters in Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Once that idea materialized in my mind, "No Christmas Like the Present" HAD to be written.
