I heard Kendel Lynn (the managing editor of Henery) speak at Left Coast Crime a few years ago. I really liked her positive energy, so I checked out the Henery books and thought they looked very professional. Then on the way back to the airport, I talked to Susan M. Boyer, who couldn't say enough good things about Henery. I feel very lucky to be with them - they're great book people, and just plain nice.

Nope, it's my real name, though I did consider adopting a pseudonym since there are so many Cindy Browns (including a famous basketball player and a Playboy bunny). I suspect authors who do use pen names may also have popular or well-known names. I might also use a different name if I published a book that was different in genre or tone from my humorous mysteries, just to avoid confusing readers.

Hi John, I just saw this - so sorry for the tardy reply. Your question is a good one - I struggle with keeping a balance. I try to spend the majority of my time working on my next book (about four hours a day, plus another chunk of time once or twice a week), about an hour a day on social media (many authors spend a lot more time than I do), and probably another 6 -10 hours a week on other types of promotion. Luckily, my publisher (Henery Press) is very hands-on, so I spend little time on publishing details, unless you count edits:)
By the way, thank you for recommending "Home to Woefield." I really enjoyed it and don't think I would've found it without your recommendation.
