I'm reading The Paris Architect right now and very much enjoying it. The Visionist is next on my list. I bought both at book shops last week when visiting the Berkshires.

Since I'm writing a series, I have to say that while writing book 1 and introducing the character of Isabelle, I just knew she had much more to her own story. But Chloe was the main character and I write in first person.....so having Isabelle be my main character for book 2 seemed logical. And yes.....I did figure out what HER story was! Once again, my imagination took over.

I guess I just always have something to say, a message to share, a story to tell. My inspiration comes from everywhere! News coverage, being in public places and hearing and seeing things, hearing another person's story, etc. and then....that's when the fun really begins. I allow my imagination to take over and somehow, magically, by the time I'm finished......I have my own special story.

At the moment I'm working on book 2 in my new Ormond Beach Novels. And this will be followed by book 3. Both will be released in 2016.

Never, EVER, give up! Attend writers conferences, get information on both the craft of writing and the writing industry. And the most important thing....read! Read what you enjoy and then ask yourself why you enjoyed that particular novel so much. Then allow your mind to wander.....and find your own special story.

After the accomplishment of finishing a story, the best thing has always been my readers. I love hearing from them via email, on Facebook and other social media and best of all, in person at a book event. I'm humbled by their loyal support.

I don't have it often but when I do, I focus on something different. Like knitting, lunch with a friend, etc. Letting my story percolate for awhile always helps.
