My latest book, "Awakening The Trinity" was birthed at a visit to a local book store. I was browsing through the poetry section where I found a collection of poems from the magnificent Rumi. Standing there in the book store, I read one poem from that book and began feeling words flowing through my soul, so I purchased the book, and practically ran out of the store to get home and write. That night was the breaking point of a 2 months writer's block I was going through. Seven months later "Awakening The Trinity" was completed.

For me, inspiration comes in many ways. Music plays an important role. Music inspires me a lot. I also get a lot of inspiration through everyday conversations with friends, family, and people I meet along my path. Perhaps my favorite thing, however, is to go out in nature. I'll go to the beach, a park, or just go for a walk around my neighborhood and just allow myself to be filled with awareness of what's happening in and around me.

Currently, January 2018, I'm finalizing the process to publish my third book, "Awakening The Trinity." It is set for a March 2, 2018 release. I'm also writing what will be my first novel.

My advice would be to remember that your art is an extension of you. Therefore, it is vitally important to be, and remain true to your own voice. Be inspired, but always remember that you are an inspiration. Allow your truth to come forth, and be bold in your endeavors. Remember that fear is a source of energy and learn how to harvest it to your benefit. And last but not least, write. Even if you don't believe what you're writing is good, just write, and keep writing until you start believing.

The best thing about being a writer is the rewarding feeling you get when something you've written touches the life of someone else. When you feel love in the words coming from someone, when you can read hope in their eyes, and sense the joy in their soul because they read something that you allowed to flee the confines of your own soul. There aren't words to describe that feeling.

I view writer's block as sort of a time of rebirth. Much like the way a fruit tree will bear fruit, and then it goes into a fruitless season. A time of rebirth. So for me, I allow writer's block to happen. I don't try to force it away. I just make certain that I am ready to create once that "fruitless" season passes, because, afterwards, the inspiration always comes in like a flood.
