Linus Wilson I'm always too busy to deal with such things. The benefit of writing non-fiction is that you don't have to invent things. Something always happens "out there" while sailing.
Linus Wilson My next book is a short one. It is called the Part-Time Circumnavigation. Do you dream of sailing around the world in a sailboat? Do you have a business or career you don't want to sacrifice for that dream? Do you have kids in school? You don't need to quit your job, sell your house, and take the kids out of school to complete a circumnavigation of the globe in a sailboat. You don’t have to wait until you are retired to sail for the South Pacific. This book tells you how you can do it without uprooting your life by taking as little as two months per year off to sail the trade winds.
Linus Wilson Most people don't realize that college professors have to write before they are allowed to teach. I consider my primary job as a professor is to write. Writing is harder than teaching for most professors. I thought writing a book was easy because I had been a professional writer for years.
Linus Wilson I am a sailing memoir junky. I think you can learn so much from other peoples failures and successes. When I went on the big trip, I wanted to write about it. Plus, I thought too often sailing memoirs typically skipped over the sailing, sea conditions, and seamanship because the authors kept poor records and wrote the books many years after the cruise.
