Millions of people have disappeared without a trace and society is in turmoil because many essential services are not manned. Now the ancient plagues of Egypt are being visited upon mankind along with earthquakes, pestilence and war.

The best thing about being a writer for me is people being willing readers of my manuscript. The letter I received from Tate Publishing accepting the manuscript and telling me what I had done well, and the areas of needed improvement, was exciting and encouraging.

John D. McDonald, who wrote the Travis Magee novels, said if you want to be a writer, then write. That's true. Don't be afraid that your idea isn't good enough, write it anyway. Then read it and re-write, be cause you won't be satisfied the first time.

My inspiration to write was mostly fascination with Jeremiah's supposed letter and the idea of Christian heroes undertaking an dangerous adventure. Even Christians find themselves in circumstances that require a violent response and that brought to mind the question, how would they respond in regards to their deepest held beliefs.

My idea came from 2nd Macabees of the Books of the Apocrypha where Jeremiah, the prophet, tells in a letter sent to his fellow Jews how he hid the original Tabernacle and the articles of worship from the Temple in a cave on Mount Nebo.
