All my books are part of the same series, so far at least. There are no cliff-hangers in between books, but I do try to set up the next book in some way before I finish the current one. It usually starts with a question, like "What would happen if...?" or "Why do Jax/Shannon...?", and then I build an adventure around that.

I'm working on the fourth book in the Legacy of Androva series, Controlling Magic. It's on track to be finished by the end of 2016.

This is a tough one. As someone who doesn't write full-time, I'm not brimming with confidence in the first place! There's also no guarantee that the same thing will work twice (at least for me...)
What has helped me in the past is jumping forwards a bit, to write a part of the story where I'm not "blocked". Other times I've had to step back and realise that I'd taken things in the wrong direction. I couldn't write because the story wasn't unfolding properly. That has meant ditching entire chapters and starting again.
Sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and keep trying though!
