Rene Elda Bard I am currently enjoying the sense of accomplishment in saying "I wrote it" instead of "I'm going to write it - one of these days - when I get around to it - etc."
Rene Elda Bard I'm a self-published author so I think I'm still in the "seeking advice" phase.
Rene Elda Bard For me, the answer is more research. When I can't seem to find the words to move forward, I switch into learning mode.

In my first novel (And Poe Said - ISBN-10: 1539544680 ISBN-13: 978-1539544685), I enjoyed looking over newspaper accounts from the 1840s and 1850s to get a feel for what people of that day were concerned about. It was fun to stumble upon things that I had never come across in Poe biographies; for instance, I found evidence of an ongoing dispute between two of Edgar Allan Poe's friends - actual letters to the editor of the Baltimore Sun - and, of course, this research ended up in my novel.
