Benjamin Medrano Tough question, honestly. I have found very, very few series where I actually like how the relationships have developed. I think that I'd have to, with much difficulty, settle on Mychael and Raine from Lisa Shearin's books.

In my view, the thing that makes me like them as a couple is that they communicate, as much as they reasonably can, and actually treat each other as equals. No damsel in distress most of the time, Raine is competent, and Mychael is as well. That's all I can think of, though.
Benjamin Medrano With great difficulty!

To be honest, this is hard no matter what I do. But generally I'll just power through a cursory overview of the scene in question and then come back to edit the section later. It isn't easy, and sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right mood music to inspire me. It sucks.
Benjamin Medrano Read books, find what you like, and think about what it is that makes the story work for you. Then try to write in that style. If you don't have time to read, you don't have time to write.
Benjamin Medrano I'm working on book 2 of the Ancient Dreams trilogy, Spells of Old. I'm also going through Ancient Ruins and fixing errors that my proofreaders and I missed.
Benjamin Medrano I've read a few 'dungeon' books, and they've percolated in the back of my brain somewhat for a year or so, and last October they suddenly came together in the idea that became Ancient Ruins. It came out of nowhere, but I'm very pleased with the overall story.
Benjamin Medrano Generally I listen to music. It depends on what sort of mood I'm in, but I'm particularly a fan of listening to Two Steps From Hell and Nightwish when writing. Lately I've also been listening to a lot of electronica. For me, the beat and the way it flows helps me get into a good rhythm of writing.
