I stop writing. I have tried pushing through in the past, but in my experience this just leads to strained writing and weak plot lines which always need deleting. So if I am having one of those days, I go out. I focus on my son, or see a friend, go to the gym, have some me time. I just relax and wait for the next blast of inspiration to hit me. Quality work is always worth waiting for.

Watching people envelop themselves in the world that I have created. Hearing people sat that they truly felt the characters emotions, that they loved the story and need to know more. It feels so good knowing that for a few moments in time, the characters I created feel as real to my readers as they do to me.

I find inspiration mainly through getting out and about, watching people. Sometimes I just go and jump on a random London bus for a while. It is amazing what you see when you are really looking. When something interesting catches my eye, I start playing part of a storyline in my head, like a film. As it plays, I quickly write it down to be looked at later.

I have lived in and around London for most of my twenties and have seen a lot of colourful characters. Like many people, I like to people watch and imagine the stories behind the faces. A few strong characters really stuck in my mind, so over time I developed them and built the story around them.
