(view spoiler)[This is the first book I have read of yours (An Anonymous Girl). Surprisingly there was no violence. Is this something you steer away from generally? I was always waiting for the shoe to drop so to speak, and even feared for Jess’s dog Leo! Was this part of the tension you were building in the book? Thanks for a fun read! (hide spoiler)]

We are so glad you enjoyed the book. We tend to lean more towards psychological mayhem vs. physical. If you read our first collaboration, THE WIFE BETWEEN US there is some physical violence, but again it's more emotional. We do love to create visceral, palpable tension and are so happy that worked for you.

We are so glad you loved it! We brainstorm for months before we begin to write. Our favorite phrase is "What If?" With that said, often the twists and turns evolve and change once we begin the writing process.

Thank you so much! We are absolutely planning to continue to write together. In fact we are currently hard at work on book 3 and the screenplay for THE WIFE BETWEEN US, which was acquired by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment.

Thank you so much. Unlike any other writing duo that I know of, Sarah and I write every line together. We write daily (Monday-Friday) barring disasters with kids or dogs! Basically we are on google docs and google hangouts from 9-4 discussing each character, each scene and writing. On off hours (earlier or later) we will go into our manuscript separately and add edits in "suggested" mode.

Thank you! Please check out our first book, THE WIFE BETWEEN US. It spent nearly three month on the NY Times bestsellers list and has been optioned by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. It just pubbed in paperback.

Sarah and I both studied journalism and psychology, which makes us curious students of human nature. Our goal was to write a psychological page-turner - one as twisty, complex, and fresh as possible. We are both drawn to strong, complicated female protagonists. There are rules to standard thrillers and mysteries, but since neither of us had written one, we didn’t know what the rules were - or that we would end up breaking them. Ultimately we wanted to explore how memories are colored by the lenses through which we view our worlds - and how people can share an experience but carry away markedly different perspectives and emotions. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your kinds words. Sarah and I have another psychological thrilled, An Anonymous Girl, pubbing on January 8th! We are hard at work on a 3rd right now, as well as writing the screenplay for The WIFE BETWEEN US.

Ha. I just looked up your book. I wonder if my publisher saw that!

Thanks, Greer. I am almost an exclusive Audible reader these days. I have about 50 pages left to go in TWBU and just yesterday noticed the cover similarity. I mean...cover art on my smartphone for Audible books is pretty small, thus the lag between buying it and actually seeing the cover detail.
Anyway, I invite you to read Black Hearts White Bones. It is well-written with excellent reviews. It is "something different" that agents say they are looking for but...no joy. I suspect it might have something to do with perception...that it's hard to believe a guy could write about two women. But love and obsession are universal, right?
Honestly, it's a kick in the pants to know that my cover concept is in the same league as big house publishing and I appreciate your reply. I hope you'll give Bonny and Read a chance...they certainly deserve it. And us independents need all the love we can get!

Mr Furney, if it's any consolation, I saw your book as a result of this thread and have added it to my to-read list. Looks very interesting.

(view spoiler)[We imagine that Vanessa had an early abortion. This was a very difficult editorial decision for us but one we felt the character would do. We imagine Duke a few towns over living with another family. We do not believe Richard would really hurt him. (hide spoiler)]

Thank you so much. Our next book is tentatively scheduled for January 2019! Sarah and I are madly trying to finish our first draft this week. It's another psychological thriller with strong female protagonists.
