Lia Brent Hi Becky,
What a coincidence! I just downloaded your Gianna the Great through Kindle Unlimited this morning because I saw it was available and then I saw your question. Of course, I will read it and post a review. Was that the book you were asking about or was it #2 or #3?
Happy New Year!
Lia
Lia Brent The ideas for the series The Chronicles of the Clothes Mind flowed easily from whatever my kids were into as they have been growing up. Tess the Princess Dress was the book that started it all. My daughter went through a princess phase that lasted through many Halloweens, and a few different princess dresses. I wrote it as a poem at first, and when other "poems" followed I couldn't help but notice a theme for a book series!
Lia Brent I was so young I can only guess why I was inspired to write. I could read before I went to kindergarten and loved being read to even before that. Since I couldn't write words on paper yet, I drew pictures and told my mom what to write underneath them. These were my first "books." I wrote plays and poetry throughout my school years, and even finished a novel in high school. I don't remember a time I have not created stories.
Lia Brent I am currently working the illustrations for Bella the Umbrella, the second book in the picture book series The Chronicles of the Clothes Mind.
Lia Brent Write what you love to read. You aren't an aspiring writer if you are writing. Published or not, you are a writer.
Lia Brent The best thing about being a writer is harnessing imagination and creating something new. Even when no one but you knows about it yet. :)
Lia Brent If I am ever stuck with what to write next, I just move on to a different project. Since I have multiple books in my series The Chronicles of the Clothes Mind, I always have other books at different stages of completion. I can always work on illustrations or even my blog until my "writer's block" unblocks itself.
