Music! I grab my energetic pup, put some headphones him, and take him for a long walk. Pandora is a lifesaver. I live in New Orleans, near the Garden District, so it's an absolutely beautiful place to hunt for muse. The city itself comes with so much color and character, it's hard not to be inspired in these streets...

My inspiration for "The Royal's Pet" is twofold...I binge-watched "The Royals," which only inflamed my love for bodyguards and princes. I also took a two-week trip with a couple of my closest friends through Europe, so that was enough to really spurn on my need to write this book.
