Ryan Butta The following day the man they thought could never be President was elected President. For life.
Ryan Butta Agent Running in the Field by Le Carre, The Anarchy by William Dalrymple and the complete works of Banjo Patterson and Henry Lawson.
Ryan Butta Write when you want to and how you want to. And don't worry if the first draft/effort is a mess. You can always edit.
Ryan Butta I love being able to commit to the page for readers certain words or phrases or stories that have entertained me at one time or another. It gives them a permanency that they otherwise might not have.
Ryan Butta It's not something I have suffered from as yet (touch wood). I try to stay disciplined with my writing. I don't write every day but when I do sit down to write I finish what I set out to do. After a few days of consecutive writing I will sometimes feel "dry" and when this happens I will stop writing for a few days until I feel inspiration returning. i think these approaches have so far helped to stave of writer's block.
Ryan Butta I am currently working on my first fiction novel. It is a crime thriller based in Buenos Aires and set against a backdrop of political and corporate crime and corruption. I am hoping to release it 1 June 2019.
Ryan Butta On a broader level, I love telling stories and I love sharing unique stories based on what I have seen and experienced. In terms of being inspired to actually sit down and write, I think it is more discipline than inspiration.
Ryan Butta Whilst living and working in Argentina between 2007 and 2011, I produced a weekly political diary on the political happenings of the Kirchner Government for friends and clients. Last year I decided to curate those writings and Nestor Cristina Buenos Aires was the result. What was interesting was to see how relevant the period I cover, 2008-2009, is to the situation that Argentina is going through today. Also a bit sad to see how little has changed.
