I haven't actually had much writer's block. Although there is one manuscript sitting on my laptop that has problems all the way through and I haven't figure my way out of it yet. It will come to me, I just need to give it time.

Persevere! Writing is one of the most competitive industries out there. And if you give up, you'll never succeed. The rejections are painful, but keep going and stay determined. Find a writing group you can share your triumphs and rejections with, and also learn from them. Improve your craft in as many ways as possible.

For The Unadjusteds, the conception of the idea came to me many years ago, in 1996 when Dolly the sheep was cloned in Scotland. I became fascinated by anything to do with genetic engineering and the seed was planted. I have a brother who is a genetic scientist so it was great to be able to discuss my ideas with him.
