Understand what you want from your writing (creative expression? career? notoriety?) and filter advice/best practices based on that. Not everyone wants the same things, and so their methods for getting what they want will be very different.

I write every day anyway! I volunteer to host writing sprints so that I have to be in my chair, and usually the block passes. Sometimes I'll skip around if I'm struggling with a specific section. And I give myself permission to write something bad, as long as I write SOMETHING.
