The Bachelor Chronicles was originally inspired by a highway sign that listed roads that I thought were brilliant names for heroes (Sedgwick and Tremont). The stories then began percolating and started out being a group of friends, and as the series continued, then followed two sisters and their cousin. It was an organic sort of evolution of the characters. It was a lot of fun to write.

(view spoiler)[Hi and Happy Day! I have every one of your books and have read them over and over again like forever. All I can ask is "Will We Get More of Your Wonderful Writing? Jacqueline Rose (hide spoiler)]
Elizabeth Boyle
Jacqueline, thank you for your kind words! And I have a new book coming out next week!! O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM publishes on Oct 1. I hope you find it as wonderful.
Elizabeth Boyle
I haven't been working on those stories--but hopefully I will get to them. I adore Miss Manx!
Elizabeth Boyle
Yes! There is one more--His Mistress by Morning. Many of the same characters as Tempted by the Night. I hope you love it as well.
Elizabeth Boyle
I had hoped to write that series, but my publisher at the time turned it down--so I've never had the chance to finish the series. Loved writing those books!
Elizabeth Boyle
I've been working on something different since I finished up this series, so I haven't had a chance to go back to it. Right now I'm in the middle of a three book series that I will need to complete before I can return to the Hathaways and the always interesting Miss Manx.
Elizabeth Boyle
I have been writing a historical fiction that has taken me a lot longer than I originally planned. I am currently putting the finishing touches on it and hope to have it released in the next year.

(view spoiler)[I’m sorry if this has been asked before. Is Matthew Grey really dead? I jumped into the series with This Rake of Mine and kept hoping that, with Birdwell’s help to pull it off, it was all a ruse on Matthew’s part. With only references to his heroism and the obvious love of his brother and his friends, he became a compelling character and I wanted him to survive somehow and find a happy ending in a book of his own. Elizabeth Boyle
I know what you mean about Matthew! I thought he was a wonderful and noble character and I always hate having to kill off anyone in my books, but he is sadly lost. Thank you so much for letting me know how much you enjoyed his character.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have it in the back of my head to write a story for Miss Manx, but I want to do something a little different rather than a traditional romance for her. She has such wonderful potential as a character--I would love to see a series about her. Isn't she just fabulous! As for the Hathaway brothers, they would be up next, but right now I am working on a different book that I hope to have done by October and a publishing date/info by the first of the year. Sorry that isn't all the news you wanted, but believe me, I do want to write MORE about Miss Manx.

The Bachelor Chronicles and the Danvers series are two separate series, so they can be read any way you want. :) I do have the book order for each individual series, along with a printable booklist on my website via my book page. http://www.elizabethboyle.com/printab... and my book page: http://www.elizabethboyle.com/books/. I hope that helps!

I am absolutely still writing! Thank you for asking. About a year or so ago, I tore up my wrist in an accident and long story short, I had to have surgery. So that has put me behind my usual writing schedule. And at the same time, I decided to try something a little bit different and I am writing a historical fiction novel that--while keeping my love of romance and humor and grand characters--is set in turn of the century Wyoming. So... I've had to do A LOT of research and this is all new territory for me, so it is taking some time to craft this really big book. Be patient with me--because I absolutely love this book, these characters and this quirky town. Thanks again for asking!!

Cintia,
First of all, how do you know your manuscript will be rejected if you haven't even finished it? That's the thing--unless you sit down and write it, then polish it and work it until it shines, you don't know what will happen. And yes there are a lot of people who want to be writers, but it takes a lot of hard work, determination and talent to FINISH a book. I emphasis FINISH, because so many people start but never finish. And my best advice to all aspiring writers is:
You will learn more in finishing 1 book than you will in starting 10 books.
And ignore the industry while writing your story. Pick the idea that lights a fire inside YOU and write it from page one to the end. Through the hard parts, through the endless parts, all the way to the end. And learn, never stop learning about the craft of writing. Because it is a CRAFT--that takes continual practice and challenges, and understanding.
Best wishes and happy writing!

Oh, I agree that Chauncey Hathaway absolutely deserves his own love interest and happy ending. I have some ideas floating around and want to find the perfect story for him. I hope to eventually write all the Hathaway brothers stories.

Thanks for the question! I so loved John and Molly and had their story all mapped out, but then my publisher asked me to do another story idea I'd been kicking around (which worked out to be the Standon Widows). I still have my notes and all and hope one day to go back and write that story because I think Molly Parker would give John a real run for his money and let him discover his inner pirate. LOL! Thanks for asking!
Elizabeth Boyle
I definitely want to do his story, in fact I want to eventually do all the Hathaway brothers. But I totally have a soft spot in my heart for Chaunce.
Elizabeth Boyle
That was my question while I was writing that scene...is he alive or not. I'm not sure yet. But definitely he could be....
Elizabeth Boyle
Chaunce Hathaway is definitely on my "must write" list. He and all his brothers. I have lots of ideas for them, just need to get the time to sit down and write those stories.
Hilda
Well it does seem Chaunce has feelings for Mariah, but I don't think she feels the same. The mystery man is the one I want to read about.

(view spoiler)[Have you or will you write a book storyline historically set in Canada? (hide spoiler)]
Elizabeth Boyle
I actually haven't. I tend to write where inspiration strikes and the stories lead me, but I've never had the muse lead me down that path. Besides, I have so many great Canadian friends, who I think would do such a better job of it--Susanna Kearsley???
But I do have to admit to a real love of Prince Edward Island....

Took me a bit to figure out, but all you have to do is click on your profile picture on the top right hand of any Goodreads page, and then click "Profile". That will take you to your profile page, and then just copy the URL and paste it into the contest page. Hope that helps!

I have to agree--I find Miss Manx and her mysterious friend, whom I call "My Lord" very intriguing. I have an idea for a series with her in it, but am currently working on another book entirely--but I do hope to tell Miss Manx's story in the next year or so, once I get this current manuscript done.
