Samiksha Bhattacharjee Hi Kenzie! Haha, I think my brain was always wired for words and writing. When I was seven, the vague idea of the story was there, but over the years it was really fleshed out. The inspiration really came from my mum suggesting that I should write a longer story (I only ever thought I'd write ten pages!). In addition to this, I think it was reading other books and wanting to make my own story about a girl exploring her emotions. Hope you like it!
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Hi Gage! Writing "Legal Crime" took many years, because I had to manage school and other commitments while writing. I took really long breaks at times for exams, but once I really got into the story, I had the motivation to finish it and make time for writing. I mainly wrote at night, because I could never get to sleep and my brain worked better then! Good luck on your writing :D
Samiksha Bhattacharjee I'm doing great! Hope your day is going amazingly too!
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Hi Elisia! Thanks so much :D
When I started writing "Legal Crime", I didn't plan at all - I was definitely more of a panster. However, as I approached the end of the story, I realised that I needed to plan out the chapters. This led to me making basic chapter outlines for the last part of the book, alongside family trees so I could keep up with the character's relationships with one another!
What I'm doing for my next novel, however, is vastly different. I planned out everything beforehand - with detailed character, lore and chapter information. I'm still trying to decide which suits me better!
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Hi Saina! Great question! I always enjoyed creative writing in school, and have been writing short stories ever since I was little. When I was seven, my mum suggested that I start to write a longer story (originally it was meant to be only 10 pages!) and so I initially characterised "Fiona" as a ten-year-old girl, before increasing her age to fit the story as I grew older. I think that Fiona's story really came to me from reading and wanting to really delve into young people's feelings and how they go about expressing them. Thanks :D
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Hi! Ooh, okay, so I was always planning to write a prequel to Legal Crime following the story of Evelyn and Daniel and more about their lives and their own family complications. I haven't started any intensive planning on it yet, but I have a title and a vague plan for the first... 3 chapters or something. It'll definitely be something I consider writing in the future!
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Well, to me it's pretty normal - but yes, I do have a pretty strong British accent 😂
Samiksha Bhattacharjee I've always loved reading and started writing stories when I was five. Writing allowed me to create new worlds and I really enjoyed doing it and reading really helped with that. I’ve explored this question more on quite a few interviews that you can find on www.legalcrime.co.uk. Keep on writing :)
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Hi Retro! Yes, I love your sapphic story so far and it has so much potential! Well, there are many routes to getting published. Some people choose to get self published (perhaps through Kindle Unlimited), some go traditionally (in which case you would most likely need to find yourself an agent - shop around a little), and some decide to be published by an indie press and in some cases you would need an agent and in some cases you can go directly to the publisher. Hope I helped, if you need any more advice, you know where to find me (and I really want to know how your school trip went!)!

Samiksha Bhattacharjee Hi Joan! I don't have any control over which stores my book 'Legal Crime' is available in, however if you want to buy it from India, you could try Amazon? Here's the link: https://www.amazon.in/Legal-Crime-Sam.... You can find out more information by visiting my website www.legalcrime.co.uk. Thanks!
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Thanks so much! Yes, 'Legal Crime' is available in all Amazon stores, here's the link to Amazon India: https://www.amazon.in/Legal-Crime-Sam...
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Hmmm, well... I haven't really considered it before, but I might do so in the future!
Samiksha Bhattacharjee I don't have any control over whether 'Legal Crime' is available in libraries, however I am aware that my book is available in quite a lot of libraries worldwide. If you have any questions about whether it is available in your local library, the best person to ask would be your librarian. If it's not there, you could ask them if they would like to feature it there, but it's totally up to the librarian or whoever is in charge. Hope I answered your question xx
Samiksha Bhattacharjee Thank you so much! 'Legal Crime' is available in all major bookstores throughout the UK and worldwide. You can visit https://www.legalcrime.co.uk/buy-the-... to find all the links :)

Hope I answered your question!
Samiksha Bhattacharjee I don't usually write very consistently as I have a lot of schoolwork, but I'm constantly thinking about book ideas! I get ideas from issues that I have seen affect others, nature, art and the news.
Samiksha Bhattacharjee I can't reveal much just yet, but it's a YA dystopian fantasy! If you want the latest updates, you can subscribe to my newsletter by visiting www.legalcrime.co.uk/subscribe!
