My great-great-grandmother was a native Hawaiian girl who was orphaned and adopted by white, Mormon missionaries. Not only is her past a mystery (somehow she ended up in Alaska and then back in Hawaii again...in the 1800s) but the things that I DO know about her are stranger than fiction. Definitely plan to write a historical novel about her in the near future.
