Tiki Black Nurture your craft. Write constantly. Don't limit your reading: read across time, genres, authors, styles, from classics to contemporary. I love the 17th/18th century Enlightenment books, the 19th century Romantics, some surrealists as much as the Japanese manga and Marvel comics. Although I am not much of a fan of certain classics, I try to read them all. And if you can, take lessons or speak to peers, even if you know it all already. There are no limits to what we can learn. Create in a category that excites you. Finally, please always get a great editor.
Tiki Black I don't get writer's block so much. What I get is an overload of generated information. A single gaze can generate so many stories in my mind, I have to rein back my imagination.
Tiki Black Observation. Life is full of details that are stories on their own. A single view at a single moment has its own story.
Tiki Black Expressing oneself, creating worlds, expanding minds, travelling from an armchair and taking remote strangers on the journey with us, and making others feel less isolated, less alone, less misunderstood.
Tiki Black I love the era in which period dramas are set. I would learn to draw, speak different languages and play the ancient piano pieces. I would read incessantly, in countryside's beautiful sceneries. But mostly I would write with ancient plumes and colour my fingers with ink from too much writing.
