Thanks Christie! I got the idea for the book when someone in my extended family got a tragic diagnosis. I began to wonder what I would do with my time left on earth, and then, because I'm a writer, I began to wonder what might happen if you thought that someone had deliberately decided to end your life, but hadn't quite succeeded.

Such an interesting question! I think it is harder and harder to stand out in this area these days because readers are so smart at figuring out twists. I think the temptation is to make twists more and more outlandish which is too bad. As to predictions - I wish I had that power!

The writing part for sure. I am more of a punster - I don't tend to outline much, and editing (while so important) is hard and something where all you see are the problems you need to fix. Drafting that first draft is when the story is fresh and you are along with it and it's being created.

Thanks for the question! It's hard to say - books always feel SO hard when I'm writing them, but this one did come together pretty quickly. I usually take a year to complete a draft, but because I ended up dumping a book I was writing at the 2/3 mark, I had much less time to write this one. It all came out in a blur!

Thank you! My biggest tip is to be an avid reader and not to give up. Writing can be challenging and publishing even more so, but if you persevere it can happen for you!

I had an idea many years ago that wouldn't leave me alone. I started writing it down and it eventually turned into a book.

That's a hard one... I have a good memory of writing SPIN - it felt easy for some reason. I'm sure that's wrong, but other books have come harder than that one.

(view spoiler)[Wow just finished Fractured! I really like how you went into describing the people's interior dwelling as if the furniture reflected the person's personality. Julie almost has the symptoms of Munchausen by Proxy. How much did you research this disorder? (hide spoiler)]
Catherine McKenzie
Thank you! I did do some research on the syndrome but ultimately I think she does not have it.
