Sharon Atkinson My most recent idea (not actually a book yet), has come from something that I am doing with my BFF. We have to make something homemade for a Christmas present for each other and so my character has a shop of this homemade product, but she is unhappy in love. So here comes a summer romance etc. Still have a lot of work to do on it as it is only a fresh new idea.
Sharon Atkinson There is too many to put down as a single answer. I am drawn to the quirky romances and there are plenty coming out right now. My list gets longer and longer.
Sharon Atkinson I get my inspiration from all around. Family and friends. People watching on the trains (to and from work), in a coffee shop etc. Also by hearing snippets of conversations that go past me. Absolutely anything and everything can be used for inspiration. You should always carry a notebook and pen as you never know when something will hit you with the inspiration.
Sharon Atkinson What I generally do is write longhand. I then type up, using my laptop. When it comes to my first edits, I use a programme called "Test Document Readability". This points out where certain sentences does not read well. I normally do it chapter by chapter. I print it out with the chapter and highlight the sentence that doesn't read well and read through it making my first edits in a different colour pen as I go. I do this with all chapters depending on how long my WIP is.

I unfortunately do not have a daily writing plan, I just wish I did.

I apologise that this has taken over a year to reply to you, I unfortunately had not seen this and I certainly was not notified I was asked a question. I hope this helps you.
Sharon Atkinson I have so many WIP’s halfway through at present, but I am concentrating on finishing my first novella/novel (depending on how long it turns out). It’s a Christmas romance that will hopefully be filled (by the time it’s finally finished) with all the Christmas cheer and enough gooey love to make you believe in the magic of Christmas. Also, I hope it will make you all brave enough to attempt the yummy scrummy recipes that will be in it. You can’t have Christmas without home baked cookies.
Sharon Atkinson Never give up on your dream, your passion and never lose your voice. Don't let a bad review or comment drag you down. Look at it as constructive criticism. Remember, you are doing what makes you happy.
Sharon Atkinson I sometimes take a break for a day or two and then let the inspiration come back to me or I set myself little challenges/exercises, and just write little snippets that I can look back on at a later date.
Sharon Atkinson I can step in to the shoes of any of my characters and escape reality for a little bit, having a new adventure every time.
