I'm a collector by nature. Always have been. My books are generally collections of stories I find fascinating—ones I want to share. That inspires me and motivates me to write. For example, The Big Book of Mars is a collection of amazing stories about the history of the Red Planet, which started with my discovery of a man in the 1920s who claimed he was in telepathic communication with a. Martian woman named Oomaruru. This was a story I wanted to share, as were many others I soon discovered happening around the same time.

I got the idea after reading a book about the history of Phrenology and the story of Joseph Haydn's head. I began researching other posthumous tales of body parts and came across the story of Oliver Cromwell's head. I decided to write a memoir for the head, covering all 300 years of its journeys through England.
